ChangeGear™ Resource Discovery Expert™ (RDE) enables IT organizations to automatically discover applications, servers, and network devices – providing unparalleled visibility into the IT infrastructure. Using agentless and dynamic probing methods, RDE performs an initial population and on-going maintenance of a Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

As a critical tool in ensuring Configuration Items (CIs) are stored accurately in the CMDB, RDE provides asset discovery and relationship and dependency mapping.
